Bashar Barakah Jackson
(July 20, 1999 – February 19, 2020), known professionally as Pop Smoke, was an American rapper, singer and songwriter. He was considered by many to be the face of Brooklyn drill. Born and raised in Canarsie, Brooklyn, Pop Smoke began his musical career in 2018. He often collaborated with UK drill artists and producers, who employed more minimal and aggressive instrumentation than drill artists from Chicago. Pop Smoke rose to fame with the release of his breakout single "Welcome to the Party" in April 2019.[7]
Following his rise to fame, Pop Smoke signed a recording contract with Victor Victor Worldwide and Republic Records, and released his debut mixtape Meet the Woo (2019). The mixtape's second single, "Dior", produced by 808Melo, reached number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. His second mixtape, Meet the Woo 2 (2020), debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200. Two weeks after the release of the project, Pop Smoke was fatally shot in a home invasion in Los Angeles. His debut studio album, Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon, was posthumously released in July 2020 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, with all 19 tracks from the album charting on the Billboard Hot 100.
Pop Smoke died on February 19, 2020, after being shot twice during a home invasion in Hollywood Hills, California. According to authorities, four hooded men entered the home at about 4:30 AM on February 19; one of them wore a ski mask and carried a handgun. Police received news of the home invasion from a call from the East Coast. Police arrived at the home six minutes later and found Pop Smoke with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. On February 21, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner revealed that the cause of Pop Smoke's death was a gunshot wound to the torso.
Pop Smoke was interred at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn. On July 10, five men were arrested in connection with his murder. Four were charged with his murder: Corey Walker, 19, Keandre Rodgers, 18, and two teenagers, aged 17 and 15. Since the crime was committed during a robbery, the adults are eligible for the death penalty. A fifth person, 21-year-old Jaquan Murphy was charged with attempted murder.

Music beginnings
At age 15, Huey began creating hip hop beats. His older brother referred Franks to producer Angela Richardson, who was creating a rap group. Franks began performing as Huey, and his songs "Oh" and "Pop, Lock & Drop It" became local favorites among DJs and promoters. Huey was featured on a series of mixtapes, one of which, Unsigned Hype, sold out of its run of 8,000 copies and was noticed by producer TJ Chapman, who introduced the rapper to Vice President of A&R at Jive Records, Mickey "MeMpHiTz" Wright, in 2006.
2006–2007: Notebook Paper
Huey's debut album for the label, Notebook Paper, was released in mid-2007, described by AllMusic as sounding like a mixture of Nelly, Chingy, and Ludacris. The album reached number 26 on the Billboard 200 chart and number 10 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. "Pop, Lock & Drop It", its lead single, peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming his biggest hit to date. Nelly's refusal to work with Huey on his debut album prompted two diss tracks "Down, Down, Baby" featuring Tha Camp Boyz and "Back at Cha'". Notebook Paper's next single was "When I Hustle" featuring singer Lloyd.
2010: Redemption
Huey's second album, Redemption, was released on September 14, 2010 after many delays. The first official single from the album was "Smile and Wave", which features Dorrough and was released on June 15, 2010. In "Smile and Wave", Huey criticizes his critics.
2013–2020: Project H
In 2013 Huey announced that he had officially signed with Waka Flocka Flame's label Brick Squad Monopoly and was working on his third album. On May 14, 2014 Huey released his mixtape entitled Project H. However, not much materialized from his signing to Brick Squad and Huey had been relatively quiet on the music scene in recent years. According to music executive William "Quayshaun" Carter, who worked with Huey in the 2010s, prior to his death, Huey had just started a business in upscale clothing, "and it was working out, and he was happy".
Death
Around 11 PM on June 25, 2020, Huey and an unidentified 21-year old male were both shot in front of Huey's home in Kinloch, Missouri. Huey was taken to a hospital where he died shortly after arriving. The other victim survived according to the Ferguson Police. Huey survived by his 13-year old daughter.

Dayvon Daquan Bennett
After fellow rapper Lil Durk signed King Von to his Only the Family label, Von released his single "Crazy Story" on December 6, 2018, and it became his breakout single.
On Valentine's Day 2019, Von's then-girlfriend, rapper Asian Doll, released a music video for her track about the artist, "Grandson," in which Von appeared.
In May 2019, "Crazy Story 2.0" featuring Lil Durk was released, and a subsequent music video was later released on May 20 of that month and peaked at number four on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. On September 13, 2019, a third rendition of the single called "Crazy Story Pt. 3" was released.
On July 9, 2019, Lil Durk and King Von released their collaborative single "Like That". On September 2, 2019, Von released his single "What It's Like". The single then appeared on his album Grandson, Vol. 1. On September 19, 2019, Von released his 15 track mixtape, Grandson, Vol. 1, featuring Lil Durk on a pair of tracks. The album debuted at number 75 on the Billboard 200and number 27 on the Hip Hop/R&B albums chart. On November 16, 2019, Von released his single "2 A.M". On November 29, 2019, Von released his single "Rolling" featuring YNW Melly, accompanied with a music video.
On January 10, 2020, Detroit rapper Sada Baby's single "Pressin" was released featuring King Von. On February 21, 2020, Von released "Took Her to the O", which went on to become one his most popular songs. It was included on his mixtape, LeVon James, released on March 6, 2020, which peaked at number 63 on the Billboard 200. The album features verses from NLE Choppa, Polo G, Tee Grizzley, G Herbo, Lil Durk, and YNW Melly, among others.
On April 29, 2020, King Von released his single "Grandson for President", which did well in popularity. He followed that up with a music video release for "Broke Opps", a song off LeVon James. He then released another single, titled "Why He Told" on July 27, 2020, and followed that up with another popular single, "All These N***as", which garnered over 21 million views on YouTube. He then released another single, titled "How It Go", on August 26, 2020.
On October 9, 2020, King Von released "I Am What I Am", featuring New York rapper Fivio Foreign. This release was in anticipation of his debut studio album Welcome to O'Block, released on October 30, 2020. The 16-track album features production Chopsquad DJ, Tay Keith, Wheezy and Hitmaka, among others. The album includes the Polo G collaboration "The Code", which was released with a music video. Von explained the key difference between his Levon James mixtape and Welcome to O'Block: "If you're doing something and keep doing it, you're gonna get better results. Everything better. It is the one for real, I've been working hard. Complex said the album sees Von "reflecting with an acute lyrical clarity on his rise and how newfound fame could impact his own life and the lives of his loved ones", while Revolt noted of the drill album: "Often rapping about Chicago and his well-respected neighborhood, this album most certainly paints the vivid picture of his cinematic lyrics while portraying his stand-out cadences through each record".
Death
On November 6, 2020, King Von was involved in an altercation in a downtown Atlanta nightclub that took place around 3:20 a.m. between two groups of men, one of them associated with rapper Quando Rondo. The dispute quickly resulted in a shootout, which two police officers attempted to break up with additional gunfire. Bennett was subsequently transported to a hospital in critical condition and died later that day. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation initially reported that three people were killed, but an Atlanta police spokesman said that only two of them died. Four people were wounded; one of them was placed in police custody for the murder of King Von. The suspect was identified as Timothy Leeks, aged 22.

By 2016, Mo3’s popularity magnified through the intrigue born of his controversial past, consistent run-ins with Dallas police and reports of violent altercations. In 2019, the rapper said he had survived an incident in which he'd been shot in the head while shooting a music video. His brutally honest tales of street life and ongoing conflict with other Dallas-Fort Worth artists were frequently documented in his songs, generating millions of streams.
Fans immediately took to social media in remembrance of the late artist, posting videos and photos of the Osama creator. Dallas native KingLuciano47 called him “the hardest out of Dallas.”
Death
The Dallas hip-hop community was rocked Wednesday afternoon as news flooded social media that recording artist Mo3 was reportedly shot and killed near the intersection of RL Thornton Freeway (Interstate 35) and Marsalis Avenue in Oak Cliff. According to law enforcement, the 28-year-old artist was shot shortly before noon and taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Shade Room, a popular entertainment blog, broke the story on Instagram minutes after the shooting with a video of the “Everybody (Remix)” hitmaker receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation as he lay on the freeway curbside.
TMZ reported that Mo3 and the gunman were traveling separately and northbound on the highway when the gunman approached Mo3’s vehicle. Mo3 reportedly fled his vehicle, and the gunman gave chase, firing multiple shots that hit Mo3 in the back of the head. The news outlet wrote that the gunman also shot a bystander inside his or her vehicle, who was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
